Endowments to initiate action against Shankara Educational Trust

Gosala located on 14-acre campus near Kakinada seized

Kakinada, Feb 5, 2015: The Endowments department is likely to initiate action against the Ashram Public School established by Shankara Educational Trust in the Endowments lands in 1985 at Ramanayyapeta near here for violating the lease norms. The Shankara Educational Trust is owned by Sri Vishnu Sevasramam which has taken on lease 32 acres on long term basis. There are reports that the Trust has been violating the rules and norms frequently. The Trust reportedly owns properties worth Rs.600 Cr. Two days ago, Endowments officials had seized the 'Gosala' located in the same campus in an extent of 14 acres. The 'Gosala' is also owned by the Shankara Educational Trust and monitored by the religious organisation 'Sree Peetham' of Swami Paripoornananda. The most interesting part of the issue is that BJP leaders have been demanding action for several months against the Trust and the school for violating lease norms . However, the officials have seized the 'Gosala' to the surprise of all not touching the School or the Foundation management. Reports however said that the Endowments department will also initiate action against the Trust too and the seizure of 'Gosala' is only a beginning. Former MLA Mutha Gopalakrishna condemned the seizure and demanded action against the Trust management.
