Bandicoots devour villager's body in Kamareddy mortuary
Nizamabad, Jan 30: In a shocking development, bandicoots have been devouring a body and mutilating it beyond recognition in the Kamareddy Government Hospital mortuary in Nizamabad, according to sources here on Friday.
Sources said, a boar killed a person named Erla Pandari, belonging to Devunipalli village in Sonturu mandal near here.
Officials had shifted his body to a mortuary at the hospital and his family members were informed the next day only.
After coming to the mortuary, the family members were shocked to see the mutilated body of Pandari.
Large parts of the skin and flesh of Pandari's body were eaten away.
When questioned, the staff members are said to have casually informed them that bandicoots may have eaten away those parts of Pandari's body.
In protest, the family members staged a dharna at the hospital and when the situation turned tense hospital authorities called in the police.
