Airtel's mobile services hit in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 24: Since 6am Saturday cell phones of Airtel have gone silent in Hyderabad due to systemic failure of its network, according to sources. No Airtel cell phone could be accessed till past noon, sources said. On inquiry, Airtel sources said the telephony major was making system integration and up-gradation on the network, which includes over 2,500 cell sites in Hyderabad. This was in preparation to the company's 4G services roll-out from Republic Day, company sources said. But, sources said due to some snag in the communication loop there was a complete breakdown of its services. However, the company is yet to issue a a statement in this connection.
