SC issues notices on separate Bar Council for Telangana

New Delhi, JaN 16, 2015: Supreme Court issued notices to the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, Centre and the Bar Council of India on Friday on a petition filed by an advocate seeking constitution of separate Bar Council for Telangana state. While seeking separate Bar Council for Telangana, the petitioner had told the apex court that names of the Telangana advocates are being enrolled in AP Bar Council violating the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. The petitioner has immediately sought a separate Bar Council for Telangana as per the provisions of the Reorganisation Act. The apex has sought the stance of the Bar Council of India, Centre and the High Court of Judicature on the issue.
