Centre imposes President's rule in Jammu & Kashmir
New Delhi, Jan 9: President Pranab Mukherjee Friday approved the recommendation of J & K Governor NN Vohra for the imposition of the President's rule in the state. The decision was taken following a deadlock in the State over the formation of a new government due to a fractured verdict in the recent assembly elections. Vohra is said to have sent a report to President Pranab Mukerjee after Omar Abdullah requested him to relieve him as the caretaker Chief Minister. Earlier, reports said Home Minister Rajnath Singh had forwarded Vohra's recommendations to the Prime Minister's Office.
