Copyright infringement: Ilayaraja slaps legal notice on director Shankar

Chennai, Jan 3: Legendry music director Ilayaraja is reported to have sent a legal notice to Tamil cinema director Shankar for “rearranging and remixing” his composition 'Ooru Vittu Ooru Vandhu' song, in the latter's recently released film Kappal without permission. In the notice, he is believed to have stated that this was in violation of copyrights. Ilayaraja has asked Shankar to pay royalty for using the song. The song was originally used in the film 'Karagaattakkaaran' that starred Ramarajan and Kanaka. Ilayaraja alleged the song was used in Kappal. Shankar is the producer of the film.
