Gandhi beer: Advocate files petition at Hyderabad court

Hyderabad, Jan 3: A Hyderabad-based advocate named Janardhan Goud has on Saturday filed a petition at the Nampally court against a US-based company for not only uses Mahatma Gandhi's name as a brand name for its beer but also prints his image on the beer can. In his petition, Goud said the company, New England Brewing Company, markets its product globally. Stating that this act of the company is highly condemnable and punishable under Indian Laws and amounts to offence under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and Section 124-A of IPC, Goud filed the petition at the Nampally court in Hyderabad against the company.
