Sea of humanity on Tirumala causes stampede-like situation

Tirumala, Dec 31, 2014: Tirumala, the abode of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy, is flooded with lakhs of devotees on the eve of New Year and Vikunta Edadasi on Thursday. There is a stampede-like situation on the temple town as there is no place for the tens of thousands of devotees here to move, stand or sleep as all rooms and shelters were filled up. Devotees also said they are unable to find out where Queues are beginning for Darsan of the Lord and where to sleep in the night. Temple authorities have imposed several restrictions on Darsan multiplying the difficulties of the devotees further.
