Special teams fan out to capital villages for consent letters
Guntur, Dec 31, 2014: The Capital Region Development Authority of AP has formed 27 special teams , each headed by a deputy Tahasildar , to visit the 29 villages falling under its jurisdiction and collect letters of consent from them on giving land to the Capital City construction. These special teams have fanned out into the villages and are scheduled to meet villagers and farmers over the issue in their bid to collect 30,000 acres for capital formation. Among the farmers of 29 villages in the jurisdiction of Tullur and Mangalagiri Mandals, farmers of 6 villages are refusing to part with their lands near the banks of Krishna River, according to reports. These six villages , where most of the banana plantations and farm implements were set ablaze by unknown people Monday night, are now tense because of the incidents in the last two days. It is to be seen as to how the farmers in these villages will react when the government special teams call on them.
