Mala Mahanadu, MRPS cadres fight on Vijayawada streets

Vijayawada, Dec 28, 2014: The Mogulrajapuram area of Vijayawada has suddenly become tense on Sunday with activists of the Mala Mahanadu and Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) coming on to the roads in large numbers and fighting each other in full public view. The provocation was the opening of Mala Mahanadu office at Mogulrajapuram by its leadership. Soon after the event, activists of the MRPS came on to the roads and raised slogans opposing the opening of Malamahanadu office and threatened to close it down. The MRPS leaders and activists alleged that it was unfair to open the office in an area where Madigaas are in a majority. As the fighting enraged, police entered the scene and dragged them away to the nearby police stations.
