Food poison in Minority gurukul, 120 students fall sick
Siddipet, June 28: As many as 120 students fell sick due to food poisoning in a Minority Residential Gurukul School in Siddipet. The students were shifted to hospital. Condition of a few students was stated to be critical.
Health Minister T Harish Rao came to know of the incident and enquired the officials. He directed them to provide better medical treatment to the girls.
According to information, students were served chicken meals for lunch on Sunday. The cooks cooked brinjal curry with the leftover chicken gravy for the night meals. After eating this, students started vomiting and motions after Sunday midnight.
As the students developed severe stomach ache, the school officials called medical staff to the school and provided treatment. They took precautions to keep the incident as secret. But by Monday afternoon, students became seriously ill and they have to shift them to hospital.
Minister Harish directed district medical and health officer Kashinath to provide better services to the children and to monitor till they recover. He ordered the officials concerned to probe in to the food poisoning issue.
