Magistrate turns up at redress program seeking salary !
Eluru, Dec 24, 2014: Even as the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been tom-toming about corruption-free government from the day one he took over the reins of state, the demon of corruption has been spreading its wings far and wide day by day in the state turning a Magistrate into one of its victims.
Giving a super shock to the West Godavari District Collector Bhaskar Katamneni, Magistrate of the Eluru Second Special Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Nandi Balasatyanarayana turned up at the weekly grievances redress program on Tuesday and sought his help for the release of his salary for the month of November.
He told a stunned Collector that his salary for the month of November has not yet been credited into his bank account by the Treasury department as he had refused to pay their routine bribes.
"For the last three weeks , I have been running from pillar to post to get my salary credited," he told the District Collector and sought his help over the matter.
The shocked Collector called the District Treasury Officer who was also present there and instructed him to release the Magisrate's salary immediately.
It is learnt that the Collector warned the officer and other staff members of the Treasury department not to resort to such practices
in future.
