DGP Ramudu helped Chandrababu in toppling NTR :Nani
Hyderabad, Dec 24, 2014: YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani, who filed a petition in the state High Court challenging the appointment of J. V. Ramudu as the DGP of AP, has argued in his petition that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu elevated him to the top police post for cooperating with him in toppling the NTR regime in the 1990s.
When Chandrababu rebelled against NT Rama Rao, he had kept all TDP MLAs in the then Viceroy Hotel falling in the North Zone headed by Deputy Police Commissioner J.V. Ramudu.
"In this back drop, people have no confidence that JV Ramudu will lead the police department in an impartial manner. Hence, his appointment should be crashed, " he argued in his petition.
Apart from that, Ramudu changed his date of birth in 1993 enabling him to get extension of service by two years and reaching the top position now, Nani submitted to the court in his petition.
Another point he raised in his petition was that the appointment of Ramudu was against the spirit of the Supreme Court judgement in Prakash Singh case.
Nani urged the apex court of the state to quash his appointment and appoint a senior officer in that position till the case is disposed of.
