Tirupati TDP MLA Venkataramana is dead

Hyderabad, Dec 15: Telugu Desam Party's Tirupati MLA Venkataramana Monday died while undergoing treatment for heart and kidney ailments in Chennai's Apollo Hospital, according to sources. Sources said 20 days ago the TDP legislator is reported to have lost consciousness while at home in Tirupati. His family members had rushed him to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) for treatment. After a week's treatment, on the suggestion of SVIMS doctors, the MLA was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai. The MLA was undergoing treatment for his heart ailment at Apollo hospital since Sunday. Early Monday, he died while still undergoing treatment, sources said. In 2014 assembly elections, Venkataramana had won the Tirupati seat with a majority of 42,000 votes. Venkatramna had crossed over from Congress before assembly elections in May this year and was elected on TDP ticket. Earlier, he had acted in films like 'Adavilo Anna' and 'Orey Rickshaw'. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and leaders of other parties condoled his death. Sources said that his body is likely to be brought to Tirupati today and the last rites will be performed on Tuesday.
