Sharmila demands TRS Govt to support distressed farmers
Hyderabad, Dec 12: YSR Congress Party leader YS Sharmila on Friday demanded that Telangana Government should immediately extend support to the distressed farmers in Mahbubnagar district and ensure that they are given input subsidy and seeds fertilizers.
On the fifth day of her tour of Telangana districts Sharmila met farmers and their families in Mallapur village of Mahbubnagar district.
Later, speaking to media persons, the YSRCP leader said farmers in the state are in deep distress as they are suffering due to severe power cuts on the one hand and on the other they are facing drought-like conditions due to lack of rainfall.
She lamented that some farmers were suffering due to drying up of crops as they were not receiving water in time. Some others who braved the harsh conditions and raised crops were unable to get minimum support price for their produce, she said.
Therefore, she demanded that the Telangana Government should immediately extend all kinds of support to the distressed farmers in the state.
