Land pooling: Chandrababu announces announces guidelines

Hyderabad, Dec 8: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has on Monday announced the his government's new land pooling policy for the development of the new capital city. The Chief Minister said farmers having patta lands and whose one acre land has been handed over the the government for capital development will get 1000 square yards of residential plot and 200 square yards of developed commercial land. Chandrababu also said that, with reference to assigned lands, if a farmer gives away one acre of land, he will be allotted 800 square yards of developed residential plot and 200 square yards of commercial land. In addition, the chief minister said for every one acre, a farmer would get Rs 30,000 per year with an escalation of Rs 3,000 per every year. Chandrababu also said that once a farmer hands over the land, he will be immediately handed over a Land Pooling Ownership Certificate (LPOC) and the developed land will be handed over to him within three years. With reference to the 22,405 farmers residing within the area where the new capital is going to be developed, all of them will be exempt from paying farm loans, the chief minister clarified. He said Rs 200 crore is going to be earmarked for loan waiver of such farmers. Regarding farmers handing over their lands located at different locations within the capital region, the chief minister said they could opt for the allotment of a developed land at one location itself.
