TS wants DoT to ban vulgar sites

Hyderabad, Dec 8: The government of Telangana is believed to have written a letter to the Department of Telecommunications asking it to direct internet service providers and mobile phone service providers to ban vulgar websites in the state. This follows the decision taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son and IT minister KT Rama Rao to build a clean reputation for Brand Telangana. In the letter, the state's IT ministry is believed to have urged the DoT to identify vulgar and other objectionable websites on its own and ban the same in Telangana. However, a blanket ban on such sites similar to China and Saudi Arabia will not be possible, according to sources.
