Finally, AP may conduct separate Inter exams, TS appoints new BIE Secretary

Hyderabad, Dec 6: Andhra Pradesh government is finally thinking of conducting separate examinations for its Intermediate students. AP Human Resource Development Ministry will soon take a decision on this after a consultation with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, according to HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Alternatively, Andhra Pradesh could also go for a legal battle, the minister said. The HRD ministry has come to this conclusion after the Telangana government constituted its own Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) and appointed Telangana Commissioner for Technical Education Shailaja Ramaiyer as its secretary. The TS government has all along been insisting on conducting Inter exams separately. AP HRD Minister is reported to have said, “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been apprised of the developments from time to time. Whether to take a legal battle or separate examinations, a decision will be taken after discussing issue with chief minister.” Earlier, Shailaja Ramaiyer has assumed charge as the secretary of TBIE here on Friday. She is reported to have said that the exams will be conducted from March 9 as per the schedule announced by the government. She confirmed that the procedure for holding the Inter exams has already begun and the work will be fast tracked. She also said that employees willing to work with TBIE will be absorbed and the government has already issued a GO in this regard.
