AP to release 1st list of crop loan waiver beneficiaries on Dec 6
Hyderabad, Dec 4: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday announced that the first list of crop loan waiver beneficiaries will be released on December 6. He said the list will be uploaded onto the government website on that day. Speaking to media persons, he also said that letters are being sent out to those farmers who have crop loans under Rs 50,000. He then said that beneficiaries under the first list will receive their amounts between January 14 and 22. Chandrababu said the total number of beneficiaries under the first list would be 22.9 lakh families. He then said that officials will scrutinise the second list of beneficiaries between December 9 and January 8. The chief minister further said all the crop loan waiver beneficiaries will get relief from their loans before January 22. Chandrababu also announced his government's decision to waive off farm loan of up to Rs 1.50 lakh per family. Stating that his government will be settling around 40 lakh accounts, Naidu said 27 lakh persons are likely to be benefited covering 23 lakh families. The chief minister also said his government is setting up a grievance cell and a call centre to receive complaints if any. Giving details of the 'Debt Redemption Scheme', the CM said those who took loans between April 1, 2007 and December 31, 2013 will be eligible for the waiver. He then went on to say that the total number of accounts registered by banks stands at 82.66 lakh and the number of accounts that were cleared for loan waiver during the first phase stands at 40.43 lakhs. He also said his government has finalised the list of beneficiaries after synchronising it with Aadhaar cards and ration cards to avoid loopholes.
