Tammareddy Bharadwaja slams top film actors
Hyderabad, Dec 3: Producer-Director Tammareddy Bharadwaja in his inimical way criticised Telugu film industry's big stars for finding time to attend events like Filmfare award functions, but unable to find time to attend the state-sponsored Nandi award functions. Speaking to media persons on 'Memu Saitham' event meant for Hudhud cyclone affected people, Bharadwaja said that though some big actors have come, other top actors failed to turn up for the event due to bloated egos. The organisers had to repeatedly request some of the big heroes to participate in the event. He said that it is irritating to note that the Telugu cinema industry is in an uncontrollable state. He then went on to state that legendary playback singer SP Balasubramaniam could alone collect Rs. 1 crore after performing for just one hour at an event in Chittoor. However, even after the entire Telugu film industry came together they were able to collect only Rs.8 crore, he said. He then said, "I think, film industry could rise much more than this if all the stars had taken part in this charity programme.” Expressing his displeasure with the attitude of some of the top male actors, the producer said, "One should come voluntarily for such charity programmes." Criticising the unprofessional attitude of Telugu film actresses for preferring to attend late night parties, he said "These actresses prefer to skip rehearsals but would love to attend late night parties."
