Domestic terminal at Shamshabad to be named after NTR

Hyderabad, Nov 20: The Ministry of Civil Aviation has confirmed that it has decided to soon rename the domestic terminal at the Shamshabad International Airport after the former chief minister of the united Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao. The domestic terminal will soon be known as NTR Domestic Terminal, according to ministry sources. It may be recalled that in the past too the domestic terminal at the Indira Gandhi International airport at Begumpet was also named after the former chief minister and founder of Telugu Desam Party. Earlier, due to objections raised by the YSR Congress Party, the Ministry of Civil Aviation had named the international airport at Shamshabad after Rajiv Gandhi and not after NTR. In May this year, TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, had revived his party’s demand that the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport be named after NTR.
