Elaborate arrangements for Ramzan: Dy CM
Hyderabad, May.15 : Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali today stated that the officials were instructed to make better arrangements for the forthcoming Ramzaan festival and ensure that Muslims do not face any sort of inconvenience during the month-long event. Mahmood Ali held a high-level review meeting with officials on the arrangements for the same with Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, Minority Welfare Advisor AK Khan and others.
Later speaking to reporters at Secretariat here the deputy chief minister stated that elaborate arrangements will be made for the smooth conduct of the holy festival across the state and in twin cities. The Government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for immediate repair of the mosques across all districts and Rs 8.48cr for Mecca Masjid near Charminar. Police officials will be deploying adequate forces at necessary points for 24 hours to provide security to the people, he said. The government employees were allowed to leave an hour before for prayers.
The officials concerned were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, clean drive at mosques and nearby roads and security. Mobile transformers will be put in place for continuous power supply and special water tanks will be pressed if necessary. Besides setting up a control room at historic Charminar area, Mahamood Ali said that the hotels will remain open for 24 hours and the officials will take up works related to road repairs, drinking water, street lights and sanitation.
