Aged persons lock up officials for pensions

Karimnagar, Nov 17: At a time when Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was assuring old age pensions to all those who are eligible, a curious case of aged persons locking up officials and demanding pension came to light on Monday. Reports reaching from Humnabad town in Karimnagar district say that when officials came to the 4th ward of the town for verification regarding old age pensions, some aged persons expressed their ire at them and locked them up. The aged persons alleged that instead of giving pensions to eligible persons, the government was giving pensions to ineligible candidates. Meanwhile, on Monday after paying tributes to Kusukuntla Kamalamma, the chief Minister stopped his convoy at Gudimalkapur village and interacted with the villagers on payment of pension to various categories of people. The villagers termed the government curbs on pension payment as improper.
