There is only a vague knowledge about ‘Uyyalawada’
Megastar Chiranjeevi made his re-entry with his prestigious 150th film recently and proved that his grit and glamour still intact with the super success of his film ‘Khaidi No. 150’. There was a big debate among his fans as to who would produce the 151st film of Chiru as the expectations are quite high for the upcoming film as well. However, Ram Charan announced that he will produce the 151st film of Chiru also and Chiru chose to portray the character of a freedom fighter, who is not so popular, ‘Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’.
As Surender Reddy gave a blockbuster like ‘Dhruva’ to Ram Charan, he was given the responsibility to direct the Chiru’s movie. Now the story discussions are in progress. The story is a periodic drama dated back to the pre-independence days and there is no written record about the freedom fighter. Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is said to be one of the first freedom fighters in India. He waged the first revolt in India against the British occupation, 10 years earlier than India's First War of Independence (term) of 1857 also known as Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Nearly 60 villages were under the control of Reddy. The ruins of the Kothakota fort can be seen even now. Renati Simham, a Telugu novel by Dr P Damodara Reddy is the only history available to learn about him. One more concern is the styling of the character. Before independence, many used to wear khadi and handloom clothes. Not only the lead character but all those who are taking part in the film will have to use the same styling. So the director opted to arrange an individual stylist for each lead actor to ensure everything is properly arranged. It is challenging to the team as they have to weave a story that runs for around two hours with a little and vague knowledge about a person. Let the team conduct research and find out more truths about Uyyalawada before stepping on to the floors.
