Parties support reservations: TRS

Hyderabad, April.13: TRS MLCs Ramulu Naik and Farukh Hussain today exhorted the political parties to support Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to increase reservations for Muslim Minorities and Scheduled Tribes during Assembly session.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, the TRS MLCs said Chief Minister KCR’s decision was to empower these unfortunate classes in terms of education and jobs. He attributed the plight of the Minorities and STs for losing over three lakh jobs as the successive governments dumped them for more than 30 years. The previous governments merely used them as vote banks and ignored their welfare, they said.

Extending thanks to KCR on the decision of reservations, they said the Chief Minister has complete knowledge of the pathetic conditions of these classes, which need a persistent support. The previous government offered 4 per cent reservations to Muslims at the behest of KCR, who made a strong pitch for implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations, the MLCs said. “The Chief Minister was implementing the promises mentioned in the party manifesto and the Opposition should not make politics on it, they said
