Advani says he has no regret for not becoming PM
Patna, Nov 14: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishna Advani on Friday clarified that he had no regrets for not becoming the prime minister of India because the respect he got from all parties had overwhelmed him. He said the respect he receives is more than becoming a prime minister. The 87-year-old veteran leader, who was here to attend a function at a residential school, had been in the race for the PM's post till June 2013 when the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was anointed as the prime ministerial candidate at the BJP's national executive meet held in Goa. Asked to comment on Narendra Modi's performance, the senior BJP leader said its is too early to assess Modi government's performance. The BJP patriarch is part of the ‘margdarshak mandal’ (guiding group) along with Atal Behari Vajpayee and Murli Manohar Joshi.
