TS govt to release Rs 10,000 cr for developing ITIR
Hyderabad, Nov 14: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that soon his government will be releasing Rs 6,000 to 10,000 crore funds for the development of the proposed IT investment region known as Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR), which is to be located at Hyderabad. Announcing this on the floor of the Telangana Assembly during the Question Hour of the budget session on Friday, the chief minister said Azim Premji, founder of Wipro Ltd - the IT consulting and system integration company, had promised to recruit 5000 IT professionals when the ITIR becomes operational. He also said Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has its facility in Adibhatla, had assured to employ at least 27,000 IT professionals. The chief minister stated that he was expecting at least one lakh government jobs and added that in this connection the Kamalnath Committee report is yet to be submitted. In addition to jobs in the government sector, there are also jobs at the corporation level, he said. In this connection, the chief minister said that soon the Telangana Public Service Commission will be set up.
