Cabinet sub-committee holds talks with AP farmers
Hyderabad, Nov 14: Members of a sub-committee of Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Friday held discussions with farmers in Thulluru mandal of Guntur district on the issue of land pooling.
Rajahmundry MP Murali Mohan, MLAs Shravan Kumar and Alapati Rajendraprasad had accompanied the sub-committee members. The meeting was well-attended.
Meanwhile, the digitization of land records in Thulluru mandal is set to begin on Friday at the local tahasildar's office. The tahasildar's office already received the necessary number of computers in this connection.
The tahasildar's office is set to begin the digitization of all the records and make appropriate corrections and modification where necessary based on the physical possession of the lands.
The first phase of the construction of the capital city is to begin from this mandal. The government plans to construct buildings to house the secretariat, assembly and official quarters for government employees.
With the Andhra Pradesh government deciding to take lands from the farmers under the land pooling system for developing the new capital, the officials are streamlining and digitizing the land records in order to see that the records cannot be tampered with in future.
The Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande, meanwhile, formed nine special teams of officials who will be starting the physical verification of the land and its records in Thulluru mandal from Friday and make necessary changes in the records.
