Shirdi Sansthan to help kin of drought-hit farmers

Hyderabad, March.30: Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, has come forward to help families of farmers, who committed suicide due to drought situation or neck-deep debts.

Sansthan president Dr Suresh Haware said the Sansthan has taken the decision during board of trustees’ its meeting to extend helping hand for employment and education with the support of social organizations and associations for the families of the farmers, who ended their lives due to chronic drought and unbearable debts after taking loans from banks.

Vice-president Chandrashekhar Kadam, trustees Bhausaheb Wakchaure, Bipin Kolhe, Pratap Bhosale, Sachin Tambe, trustee and president of Shirdi nagar panchayat Yogitatai Shelke, Sansthan executive officer Rubal Agrawal and Dy EO Dr Sandip Aher and others were present.

Dr Haware said farmers’ suicides in the State was a sensitive issue and board of trustees has taken the decision for rehabilitation of the families of farmers, who have committed suicides, a report from Shirdi said today. The family members of the deceased farmers will be helped for starting small scale business and jobs with the support of social organizations and associations. The children of such farmers will also be helped for education.

 Besides, an IAS Academy will be started by Sansthan Trust for the benefit of poor students to appear for competitive examinations. Some 100 students will be admitted in the first batch and later the intake capacity will be increased as per requirement, Dr Haware added.
