Imran Khan dares Pakistan government to arrest him
Islamabad, Nov 13: Pakistan's Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party chairman Imran Khan has refused to seek bail after being charged with attacks on the parliament and PTV buildings in Islamabad, media reported Thursday.
An anti-terrorism court issued arrest warrants Wednesday against the cricketer-turned-politician for his alleged role in the attacks in September, according to a Dawn online report.
Imran Khan, however, dared the government to arrest him.
"I have just heard the good news about my arrest warrant. I want to make it clear that I was sleeping in the container that day, he said.
The PTI chief said the government issued the warrants because “Mian Sahib” (Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif) was feeling threatened by the PTI's plans to hold a public gathering in Islamabad Nov 30.
Imran Khan said that if he were to be arrested, the public gathering, which would take place in his absence, would be the largest in Pakistan's history.
