AP sweet shop enters Guinness Record for a 7,858-kg laddu
Tapeswaram, Nov 12: The owner of a sweet shop from Tapeswaram in Andhra Pradesh created history by preparing a gigantic laddu weighing 7,858 kg, which was offered to Lord Ganesh during Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The laddu has now found a place in the Guinness World Records. The shop, Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets, won a place in the Guinness Records for the fourth time in a row. The shop owner, S Venkateswara Rao, could achieve the feat thanks to his family and his 25 member staff. Rao, a school drop out, aims to outdo his own record every year. He began his career as a hotelier by joining his father S Satyanaraya Murthy in running the then small hotel. In 2011, he had prepared a laddu weighing 5,570 kg, followed it up with 6,599.29 kg laddu in 2012, 7132.87 kg in 2013 and 7,858 kg this year.
