Farmers, govt will benefit from new capital: Naidu
Bengaluru, Nov 10: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the farmers as well as the state government will benefit from the construction of the new capital city. Chandrababu Naidu was interacting with media persons after holding discussions with experts in agriculture in Bengaluru. The chief minister also said he and the farm experts discussed on issues relating to latest technologies in agriculture production and storage of farm produce. Earlier, after holding discussions with his Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah in the garden city, Chandrababu said both Karnataka and AP will benefit if Tungabhadra river upper and lower canals were modernised. Elaborating on the issue, he said due to accumulation of silt in the canals, especially in the lower canals of Tungabhadra dam, water storage capacity has been reduced to a large extent. It is therefore necessary to modernise the canals benefiting both the state. With the modernisation of the canals, he said two Andhra Pradesh districts, i.e. Anantapur and Kurnool, will benefit a lot.
