Only one person in a family to get old age pension: KTR

Hyderabad, Nov 7: Telangana Minister for Panchayati Raj KT Rama Rao on Friday clarified that if there are more than one aged person in a family, only one of them will be eligible for the old age pension scheme in the state. Rama Rao confirmed that till date the state government had received 44 lakh applications for old age pension scheme and that the government has earmarked Rs 3000 crores for the purpose. Stating that the pension scheme will be launched across the state on Saturday, the minister said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to inaugurate the welfare scheme at Kothur in Mahabubnagar district. He clarified that pensions will continue to be distributed till the end of November and added that all those who are eligible will surly receive pensions.
