JP welcomes Union Budget proposals

Hyderabad, Feb.1 : Reacting on the Union budget,  Loksatta founder-president Dr Jayaprakash Narayan has welcomed the Centre’s attention on infrastructure, focus on rural sector, fiscal  discipline, Corp tax reduction and MSME and IT relief at low end are welcome steps. However, there was no mention of real efforts for eradication corruption and digitization is a good step but it is not a panacea, Jayaprakash remarked.

“The Union Government seems unwilling to deal with NPAs, poor balance sheets of corporates and lower private investments”, Loksatta president said, adding that the main reason for political corruption was buying of votes. The real challenge is vote-buying, not party accounts, he said and stressed the need for systematic reforms, he added.
