KCR reviews safety issues of women
Hyderabad, Nov 6: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is said to have reviewed concerns related to safety of women with heads of departments and secretaries at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
The review is said to have been on the basis of a report submitted by a panel of women IPS and IAS officers on September 20.
The report was forwarded to all heads of the departments for implementing the recommendations. The chief minister had reviewed the implementation of the committee recommendations on Thursday, officials sources confirmed.
The panel is said to have made 82 recommendations. One of recomendations is to step up security where women worked in large numbers.
Members of the committee had toured Gujarat to study helplines run by women and Kerala to see cabs with women drivers.
