15% bonus in collections for Gautamiputra Satakarni
Nandamuri Balakrishna's Gautamiputra Satakarni is slated for release on Jan 12th. A few days ago, the movie was declared Tax free in Telangana region, now it was officially declared Tax free in Andhra Pradesh as well. So the movie will benefit 15% from these taxes in AP/TS box office. This is really a superb news for the Distributors now.
The film's Theatrical rights were sold for Rs 37.5 crores in AP/TS. In Karnataka, it was sold for Rs 3.8 crores, Overseas - 4 crores and rest of the areas 2 crores. It needs to recover Rs 47.3 crores worldwide to reach its breakeven. However, it will save 15% from taxes in AP/TS box office as it was awarded Tax-free in both states.
Directed by Krish, the film has Shriya Saran in the female lead role. Hema Malini is playing the crucial role as Balakrishna's mother and Kannada superstar Shiva Raj Kumar seen in a cameo role.
