BJP-SAD Sweeps Chandigarh Municipal Polls
Chandigarh: Just ahead of the crucial assembly elections, Punjab's ruling BJP and SAD alliance registered a landslide victory in Chandigarh municipal polls. Out of total 26 seats ruling combine won 21 seats. Opposition parties expected that an anti-incumbency factor will play an important role. But Congress settled the account for just 4 seats.
BJP Supremo Amit Shat told "Every election victory after November 8 resembles that people approve of demonetisation decision of PM Modi."
After the massive victory BJP cadre launched celebrations in Chandigarh and claimed that this win is the people's mandate on currency ban.
BJP registered significant victories in Maharashtra and Gujarat civic polls after demonetisation announcement and humbly credited those wins to PM Modi's battle against black money and corruption.
