TG suspends power generation at Srisailam

Srisailam, Nov 3: Telangana government has temperorily suspended power generation at the Srisailam reservoir since midnight of Sunday with the expiry of the deadline given by the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), official sources said. Earlier, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was upset with the directive of the KRMB to stop power generation at the Srisailam reservoir. Chandrasekhar Rao had called the board's chairman a 'nincompoop'. Meanwhile, Telangana Government had entered into a 1000mw power supply deal with the government of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao had visited Raipur on Sunday and held discussions with his Chhattisgarh counterpart Raman Singh following which the agreement was signed.
