TS Assembly : 11 Opposition MLAs Suspended
Hyderabad: Day 1 of the Telangana Assembly session went cordially with the extensive discussion on Demonetisation but Day 2 began with obstructions. Opposition MLAs insisted immediate discussion on adjournment motions but Speaker ruled out their demand and suggested to take up Question Hour first.
United opposition parties demanded to take up discussion on defections.
In view of the disruptions Legislature Affairs Minsiter Harish Rao moved resolution for the suspension of MLAs. Minister accused that after disrupting the Lok Sabha for about a month, now they are planning to disrupt the Assembly also.
Resolution passed with voice vote and 9 Congress MLAs and 2 TDP MLAs were suspended from Assembly for the day. Opposition party leaders slammed the suspension and termed the decision was against principles of democracy.
