YCP Moved Pvt Member Bill On Amendments to 'MLAs Disqualification'

New Delhi: YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy today moved a private member bill seeking amendments to Article 120 and Article 191 which are related to Disqualification of MLAs. He told that Legislative Speakers are intentionally delaying on the disqualification petitions to serve the vested interests. In some cases petitions were kept pending for years together. He appealed to change such system in order to strengthen democracy. What is a private Bill - A private member Bill is a proposal for a legislation that would apply to a specific individual or group. If the bill passed, the Bill will be directed to the LS/RS, according to the parliamentary procedures Private members Bills come up for voting on Fridays. So far, Parliament has passed 15 private members’ Bills.
