From Now Its 'Kavithapuram'

November 29, 2016: Villagers of Khanapur, Armur Mandal, Nizamabad district have renamed their village as 'Kavithapuram' after TRS MP Kavitha. Couple of days ago Khanapur gram panchayat passed a resolution to rename their village after MP Kavitha. They told that she rescued them when they were displaced by SRSP reservoir (Sri Ram Sagar Project) on The Godavari river. As a 'token of their gratitude' they renamed their village. Khanapur sarpanch Mamatha Naresh said “We are all overwhelmed with her great concern for us. So, our villagers have decided to name our village as Kavithapuram.” Armoor tehsildar Rajender told that in revenue records the village name continues to be as Khanapur till a notification is issued about the change. A huge banner has been put already at the entrance of the village with the new name.
