Ravula demands white paper on HMR project
Hyderabad, Nov.28: TDP Telangana State party today demanded that the State government release a white paper on the construction and delay of Metro rail project in the city. Speaking to media men at NTR Bhavan here today, party senior leader and politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said the HMR project was delayed due to the wrong decision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who, before elections, had opposed metro railway line before the Assembly and via Sultan Bazaar. However, both lines were allowed in earlier position after elections, which led to price escalation of the project, the TDP leader said. This project was scheduled to be completed before 2017 at the cost of Rs 14,132 crore. But “immature” decision of KCR put an additional burden of Rs 3000 crore. The organization, which was executing the project wrote to the State government to bear the additional cost. Ravula said the Congress and TRS governments have deliberately delayed the project, which materialized during the TDP regime. Telangana TDP ST Cell president Baburao Nayak, State cultural programs cell president P Saibaba were also present at the press conference.
