Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna passed away

Indian Carnatic vocalist, playback singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and actor and Padma Vibushan awardee Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna(86) passed away. Mangalampalli was born in Sankaraguptam, East Godavari District on 6 July 1930. Balamuralikrishna has began his musical journey at a very young age. he had mastered all the 72 melakartha ragas by the age of fifteen. He has composed more than 400 compositions in various Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Sanskrit. His compositions include a vide range of varieties like Krithis, Thillans, Javalis and Varnams etc. Mangalampalli made his filmy debut as Narada in classic Bhakta Prahlada which was released in 1967. This legend bagged two national awards for his singing and music composition. National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 1976 for the film Hamsageethe and National Film Award for Best Music Direction in 1987 for the film Madhavacharya.
