Rural areas will get top priority in currency stuffing
Refilling of ATMs with new currency has become hercules task for the currency vendors. People across the nation have expressed their discontent over the arrangements of banks. Keeping in view of the practical problems villages, small towns, bus stations, hospitals and the regions which posses less digital connectivity were given priority in stuffing the currency. The recent meeting held between National Payments Corporation of India and Banking regulator concluded to do so as the currency logistics companies not posses capacity or manpower to stuff 2 lakh ATMs within 72 hours. Under usual circumstances, ATMs refilled once in every three to four days, now to meet the present rousing demand it may need to refill twice a day. Logistics companies telling that the situation is worsening further due to messy traffic coupled with complex cash reconciliation protocol at banks.
