Chandrababu acting like ‘Kalakeya’: TRS

Hyderabad, Nov.7: TRS leader Karne Prabhakar today launched a scathing attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for pressing Telugu Desam Telangana leaders to take up padayatras, which are ridiculous. Addressing the media here today, he termed Chandrababu as “Kalakeya’ for dumping farmers by acquiring 30,000 acres of fertile lands known for three crops. Chandrababu is indulging in real estate business using the fertile land in his State capital which is yet to come up, he alleged. TD’s padayatra by Revanth Reddy is aimed at political mileage and nothing to do with the farmers’ woes he rebuked. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has a plan to irrigate one crore acres over five years and the Opposition was coming in the way of projects’ works, he said. Design changes for the projects are aimed to irrigate more acres through ample use of waters and lakes restoration program has been successful, he claimed. The TD has no right to conduct protests of any sort for the farmers as the previous TD Government only deceived them, he charged. Prabhakar recalled that some 15,000 farmers committed suicide during Chandrababu regime before the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. He also criticized that the Chandrababu Government resorted to killing people for seeking to reduce power charges through protests. Seeking to know whether no suicides took place during the previous TD regime, he said the people are not ready to believe in the padayatras. The Opposition parties should stop mud-slinging on the government which was trying to protect the interests of the farmers he added.
