Shankar Reddy to head Irrigation Corporation

Hyderabad, Oct.26: Eda Shankar Reddy today assumed charge as Chairman of Telangana State Irrigation Development Corporation. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has appointed him in the post for his association with TRS during statehood movement. Ministers KT Rama Rao, Harish Rao, Eatala Rajender, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, MPs Vinod, Suman, MLA Shobha, Deshapathi Srinivas were present. KTR said those who participated in the statehood movement will get due recognition. In future, a few more leaders will get such appointments, he said. He hoped that the chairman will take the plans of the government forward. Harish Rao expressed happiness and extended thanks to KCR for the appointment. He said efforts will be made to irrigate every acre of agriculture land in the State. Harish Rao charged that lifts have gone defunct during the Congress regime and the TRS dispensation will allot funds to restore them. He said water resources will be fully utilized. KCR plan to fill the lakes through Mission Kakatiya gave positive results and the lands are being strengthened using desilted soil. He also said that no farmer or any worker will migrate from Palamur to other places for livelihood as the lakes are abundant with waters and fish cultivation took a leap. Palamur will turn into green belt through Kalwakurty lift scheme. Vinod said that they are able to fully utilize Godavari waters and will spend adequate funds for irrigation.
