Shirdi Saibaba was not anti-Hindu: Sadguru Nilayam

Hyderabad, Oct.23: In the wake of controversial statements being made by some Hindu Swamijis about the religion and nativity of Shirdi Saibaba, Anantabhotla Sudhakara Rao of Sadguru Nilayam of Nellore has said Sai devotees all over the world were not able to digest the vilification campaign against Shirdi Saibaba by some jealous Hindu swamijis. Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Sudhakara Rao said several researches revealed that Saibaba was not a Hindu god, but an embodiment of Nature and was adorned by people of all religions and communities. He asserted that Shirdi Saibaba was a Hindu and belonged to Shukla Yajurveda Madhyandina Brahmin family of Kaushika Gotram. “He was ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman. Saibaba’s real name was Haribavu Bhoosari and born to Parashuram Bhoosari couple in Patri village of Aurangabad district. Haribavu Bhoosari deserted his home when he was eight years and claimed his parents were the Nature. Saibaba used to advise his devotees to chant Eknath Bhagavatham, Ramaraksha strotram and Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram”, Sudhakara Rao said and questioned the gossip that Saibaba was a Muslim. He also pointed out that pujas at Mahasamadhi of Saibaba were being performed as per Hindu traditions as suggested by then Ahmednagar district Collector.
