TRS will have a cake-walk in 2019 polls: Kavitha

Hyderabad, Oct.21: Telangana Jagruthi Chief, Nizamabad MP and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha has exuded confidence that the TRS party would retain power in 2019 elections with full majority. Participating in a ‘Meet-the-Press’ program organized by the Press Club of Hyderabad here on Friday, Kavitha made it clear that the political parties, which were apathetic to people, would perish. She asked CLP leader K Jana Reddy to stop confusing the people. She suggested to the Opposition parties to know the works of the State government through Right to Information Act. Kavitha said the Congress has the dubious credit of lowering politics to the bottom level. There was no need to react to AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh’s statements against TRS government and KCR. The Chief Minister was giving top priority to the irrigation projects. The Congress party has no right to speak about KCR’s family, she thundered. “The Chief Minister KCR, Ministers KTR, Harish Rao and me participated in Telangana movement actively”, she reminded. Kavitha said the Telangana culture, traditions have got ‘Golden Era’ in the last two-and-a-half years and hoped that the era has to continue as it was. Telangana has the culture of respecting ‘daughters’. The ‘Bathukamma’ festival was organized in nine foreign countries on a grand note. She said she felt happy as the foreigners too participated in the Bathukamma festival along with Indians in those countries. The foreign countries too were respecting the Bathukamma festival. The Bathukamma festival in Australia gave an unforgettable memory. In Australia, local MLAs participated in the Bathukamma festival, she said. Bathukamma festival played a great role in improving the role of the womenfolk in Telangana. Telangana was a synonym to prowess. Telangana people were performing in all sectors. “We remember martyrs in a grand manner in our own state”, she said, adding that she was feeling happy for getting historic status to the Telugu language. She also lashed out at TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh saying that she didn’t want anybody’s advises in revealing assets. “We didn’t earn indiscriminately as earned by Chandrababu Naidu. We will show the details of our assets to the concerned”, she said. She opined that Lokesh’s remarks against KCR family were showing his ignorance. It was good for Lokesh to concentrate on Andhra Pradesh politics instead of poking his nose in Telangana affairs. She said it was not proper to speak about Andhra Pradesh politics. The Telangana government was giving adequate priority to the women though there was no single woman Minister in the State Cabinet. It was also not proper to politicize the surgical attacks carried out by the Indian Army, she said.
