Glory of Hyderabad, Chicago to help city students

Hyderabad, Oct.14: The Glory of Hyderabad took place earlier this year under the patronage of the Consulate General of India in Chicago. A delegation comprising Mir Ziauddin Ali Khan, who is the president of the Glory of Hyderabad and Dr Deepak K Vyas, CEO of Redberri Foundation and a prominent Hyderabadi resident in St.Louis is currently visiting Hyderabad. The visit of the delegation synchronizes with the presence of Dr Ausaf Sayeed, Counsul General of India in Chicago in the city on an official visit, who has been strong pillar of support to the The Glory of Hyderabad’ since its inception. The objective of the visit of the ‘Glory of Hyderabad’ delegation is to finalise some initial projects this organization proposes to launch with the support of the State government, Osmania University and the Niloufer Children’s Hospital and Foundation for Economic and Educational Development (FEED). In this connection, this delegation has had productive meetings with the Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau MA Khan, Telangana State Health Secretary Rajesh Tiwari, Niloufer Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr C Suresh Kumar, Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. S Ramachandram, Registrar Dr Suresh Kumar, Foundation for Economic and Educational Development Managing Trustee Ghiasuddin Babukhan. Speaking to the media here on Friday, the Consul General of India in Chicago Dr Ausaf Sayeed and Redberri CEO Dr Deepak K Vyas have said that ‘The Glory of Hyderabad’ is taking up the following activities will be set into motion at the earliest. The Glory of Hyderabad is instituting a ‘Gold Medal’ in the department of Public Administration at Osmania University for the students who secures highest marks in his/her PG annual examination in single attempt and is economically poor. Another student will be sponsored for pursuing BE Course at the university college of engineering for the entire duration of his study. The endowment for the above gold medal and scholarship will be initiated through the Glory of Hyderabad organization. Glory of Hyderabad is decided to sponsor the education of five students who are studying in intermediate 1st year in the batch of 2017-18 in Hyderabad Institute of Excellence (HIE), Vikarabad. HIE is a fully residential campus imparting quality professional education with integrated coaching for IIT, NIT, & AIIMS, Medical, Dental and for Chartered Accountant/Law. Glory of Hyderabad also decided to feed about 150 poor and the hungry daily for a period of 70 days thru Azhar Maqusi who runs the program by the Dabeelpura Railway Station. The Glory of Hyderabad is in discussion and awaiting proposal to help Niloufer Children’s Hospital, they said. According to them, the above efforts and many more in future to follow are being undertaken by The Glory of Hyderabad with a spirit to make a humble contribution to the city of Hyderabad, by the Hyderabadies who were born, brought up and educated up to various levels of life in Chicago, and it is now their turn to give something to this city that gave them so much. They said that in Chicago, this organization has held day long programs to high light Hyderabad’s rich culture and heritage, its value and ethos, and to familiarize the new generation with Hyderabad’s place in contemporary times. Some of the patrons of Glory of Hyderabad include its vice president Iqbal Baig, secretary Syed Ashfaq Hussain, a very prominent dentist in Chicago Dr Muzzfar Mirza. For the proposed projects with Niloufer hospital and other health-related initiatives the Glory of Hyderabad will work closely with the Redberri Foundation but all other projects will be undertaken directly by the Glory of Hyderabad with the Philanthropic support from the Hyderabadi diasporas in Chicago land, they added.
