Secunderabad Ujjaini temple Rangam blesses KCR rule

Rangam, the Oracle, who foretells the events in the following year in Telangana, on Monday painted a brilliant future for the State, giving full marks to Chief Minister, K. Chadnrasekhar Rao's propitiating the gods for the people. The sixth generation Rangam of Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali temple, Swarnalatha, said she was extremely pleased with KCR's Chandiyagam taken up in Medak district a few months ago. The oracle was happy that the devotion of the Telangana people thereby had increased. The Rangam is ritual act enacted on the top of a wet pot during the Bonalu festival for Goddess Parvati and her regional forms. The Rangam, Matangi Swarnalata, a girl in her teens, forecast that there would be copious rains in the State and that the green cover would increase, referring to the Haritha Haram (afforestation programme). The Rangam also said that the devotees of the Goddess would be guarded against all evil. Overwhelmed by the occasion, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, a native of Secunderabad, danced along on the occasion to the `teen-maar' beat.
